Backstage Guitars is a brick-and-mortar music store located in the central Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh. We offer a unique selection of guitars, amplifiers, and effects as well as the quality, well-known brands you're used to. Our technicians take pride in our full-service stringed instrument and amplifier repair. We also provide private music lessons for guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and ukulele. If you're looking for a small PA or amplifier rental, we have those too.

We opened in the Spring of 2009 on Butler Street in Lawrenceville with the purpose of bringing a fresh perspective to the music retail industry in Pittsburgh. Our unique inventory of new and pre-owned guitars as well as our dedication to customer service has helped shape us into who we are today.

In June of 2016, Shop Manager and Head Guitar Tech Jason Cook became the sole owner of Backstage Guitars. Jason has been working at the store since early on, and doesn't intend to change much. Backstage Guitars will always be committed to providing unique gear, quality service and repairs, and we will continue to cater to the local Pittsburgh musicians that keep us going.
